Customize Facebook Notifications Sent to Your Email

Facebook sends every notification you receive to your email. For example, If a page tags you in a picture and someone comments on that picture, you'll get an email about that comment. OR If some one comments on the post you've commented earlier, you'll get an email about that and the list goes on. Whatever the scenario is, you're gonna end up with clogged up inbox. So, In this post, I'm gonna explain how to customize Facebook notifications sent to your email.

- Go to your Account Settings (By Clicking on the triangle next to Privacy Shortcuts and click on Settings)

- Click on 'Notifications' in your Account Settings

- Under 'How You Get Notifications', you have various modes through which you receive notifications. They are On Facebook, Email, Push Notifications and Text Messages.

On Facebook - You receive every notification related to your account on Facebook. I'll explain how to customize the notifications you receive in Facebook in my next post.
Email - Here, you can limit the notifications sent to your email. You can also completely stop Facebook from sending notifications to your email.
Push Notification - You can enable push notification in your phone by going to Account Settings > Notifications > Mobile Push in your Facebook Application. There, you can select the notifications you want to receive.
Text Messages - This is as simple as the name sounds. You receive notifications directly to your mobile after you add your mobile number.I'll explain about adding a mobile number to your Facebook account in my next post.

- Now, click on 'Email'. You have 3 options under 'You'll Receive', All Notifications, Important Notification and Notifications about your Account, Security and Privacy. There, check the 'Notifications About your Account, Security and Privacy' .

Now, you will not receive any emails about comments, photos, tags, likes etc. If you want to receive emails about tags, messages and comments, check the 'Important Notifications About the Activity You've Missed'. If you want to receive all the notifications to your email, check the 'All Notifications, except the ones you unsubscribe from'.

Right below the above three options, you have the list of things you've unsubscribed from. If you want to receive the emails about the thing you've unsubscribed from, just click on the 'Turn On' next to it.
