We don't need Screenshot Apps, Add-ons and Shortcuts on daily basis. But they come handy when you need them. Especially if you want a snapshot of your Facebook Comment or to save Text posted as an image or to show something to your friends that's in your computer (game screenshot, a new software etc.). So, I'm gonna talk about taking a Screenshot in Windows, Android and Browsers through shortcuts, Add-ons and extensions. Screenshot in Windows and Android is pretty easy, I should say. 'Why would I need a screenshot Add-on / Extension when I can capture it using windows screenshot shortcut?' You might have had this doubt. I'll tell you as we proceed. Read On :)
You can also use software like Photoscape, Photoshop etc.
Other than the above options, you also have Options in the drop down menu. You can select the format of saved images (JPEG or PNG) and add shortcuts for different capturing modes (entire page, visible part and selected part). After capturing and editing a screenshot, you can save it to your computer by clicking on 'Save' next to Save Image as a file.
You can save your screenshots in Awesome Screenshot website (Temporary - Only stores for about one month) or in Diigo website (Permanent). You have to have an account to save your screenshots in Diigo. On the other hand, you don't need an account to save your images in Screenshot website.

Screenshot in Windows
Like I said, Screenshot in windows is pretty easy. All you have to do is hit 'Print Screen' key on your key board, open Paint and click 'Paste' or 'ctrl + V'. Believe me, Screenshot in windows is that simple. It works with Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP. I'm not sure about the before versions of windows. You can also use software like Photoscape, Photoshop etc.
Screenshot in Android
Screenshot in Android is common to most of the phones running on Android. However, Manufacturers like Samsung, Sony Xiaomi etc. provide shortcuts. Sony's got a screenshot key in the task manager section, Samsung's S-feature lets you take a screenshot by swiping your palm over the screen, Xiaomi got a shortcut in the drop down notification tray under 'Toggle section'. But for phones with no shortcut for screenshot, you can take a screenshot by pressing and holding the Volume Down Key and Power key. This works with most of the Android Phones, even with the ones having shortcut keys. Your screenshots will be saved in the Gallery under Screenshots.
Now, here comes the answer to your question 'Why would I need a screenshot Add-on / Extension when I can capture it using windows screenshot shortcut?'. In Windows, after taking a screenshot, you have to paste it somewhere else to edit. But in Browsers, you have extensions/add-ons that' will let you edit the screenshot before you download it. You can annotate, crop, draw circles, squares, lines, curves, add arrow marks, blur unnecessary areas etc. You can also save them online, temporarily or permanently.
Screenshot in Chrome (Extension) / Screenshot in Mozilla Firefox (Add-on) / Screenshot in Safari Browser
You have various extensions / Add-ons in Chrome or Mozilla Firefox that lets you take screenshot of anything that you open in the browser and edit it. I'd suggest 'Awesome Screenshot: Capture and Annotate' (Click Here for Official Website). Awesome Screenshot not only lets you take screenshots, but also lets you annotate, crop and perform all the other actions mentioned above on the go. This saves time. All you have to do is click on the Awesome Screenshot Logo (Its logo is lens) to the top right corner of the screen and select the preferred option in the drop down menu. In Safari Browser, the Awesome Screenshot tool is to the top left corner. Drop down menu has three options,
- Capture Visible Part : You can capture what's present on the screen at that moment by clicking on 'Capture Visible Part' in the drop down menu.
- Capture Full Page : You can capture the full page you're on by clicking on 'Capture Full Page' in the drop down menu. It automatically Scrolls down and take a screenshot of the entire page from top to bottom (not just the area of the page displayed).
- Capture Selected Area : You can capture selected area of the page you're on by clicking on 'Capture Selected Area'.
