Samsung released Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 in two models, the 7" one and the 8" one. The following review is about the 7" one. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is priced @ Rs. 17,599 on Flipkart. For basic needs like reading books, watching videos and playing mid-range games, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is a better option. The screen, with a WXGA Resolution i.e., 1280 x 800 pixels, with 213dpi. So, the display on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is crisp and sharp. There is no ambient light sensor. You don't have auto brightness mode too. Now, these can be a drawback.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has got non-removable back. The back of this tablet, though made of good quality plastic, has got a leathery kind of finish. Its a bit rough and gives you better grip while holding the tablet. It got a speaker to the bottom right of the back and camera to the top center. Tab 4 has got nothing to the right side. To the left, it has power key, volume rocker at the top and and microSD slot, SIM Card slot at the bottom. On the top you have 3.5mm Audio Jack. At the top center, you have a speaker. To the right of the speaker, you have the front camera. You have the Task Manager, Home Key, Back Key in the same order at the bottom of the phone.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 has a 7" 5point multitouch LCD Screen. Tab 4 has got Touchwiz User Interface. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 supports 2G and 3G networks. So, you wouldn't have any problem browsing internet while traveling. You don't have to use any 3G dongle device. The primary camera on this phone is a 3.2MP fixed focus camera with 2048x1536 pixel maximum resolution. You can record HD videos, i.e. 720p video @ 30fps using the Primary camera. You also have geotagging. However, there's no flash. So, you can't expect good pictures under low light conditions. The secondary camera on this phone is 1.3MP. So, you wouldn't have any problem with video calls or Skype chats.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 comes with 1.5 GB RAM and 8GB Internal Memory. This phone has got a 1.2GHz quadcore processor. Games like Temple Run, Subway Surfers run with no lags most of the time. But when it comes to high end games, like EA Real Racing 3, there are noticeable lags. Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 runs on Android Kitkat v4.4.2. This phone has only Accelerometer Sensor. This phone has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS/GLONASS.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 has a 4000mAh Battery. The battery life is decent. It can get through the whole day. The battery is non removable. This phone weighs around 276grams. The dimensions of this phone are 186.9x107.9x9mm.
