Micromax Yureka Review, Yureka with Octacore Processor and 13MP Camera @ Rs. 8,999

Micromax release Micromax Yureka recently. The Yureka is basically a phablet with its 5.5" screen. It runs on cyanogen, too. A rough outline of features that makes the Yureka stand out are it's Display, Processor, GPU, Camera, 4G and, of course, Cyanogen OS. This phone has a 2,500mAh battery. As it runs on Cyanogen version of Android, we can expect it to crash less frequently than actual Android (I don't mean Android crashes frequently). Following is my review of Yureka.

Display
Yureka has a 5.5" display. It's got a corning gorilla glass3. The resolution of 720x1280pixels (HD Resolution). The display is crisp and bright. The User Interface is user-friendly. The best feature of this User Interface is many individual parts of it can be edited as per our taste. You can change the Font, the notification bar, icons on the notification bar etc. You also have many themes to choose from. By default, you only get two themes, the cyanogen one and the android one. However, you can download many themes from the store.

Camera
Yureka has a 13MP Primary Camera and it works pretty well. I found the images captured indoor under normal light to be a bit noisy. However, with the flash on, images came out great. I've added images with and without flash below. The Primary Camera can record Full HD Videos at 30fps. The 5MP Secondary Camera works well. Its quality is more than enough for Video Calls, the primary requirement. Of course, selfies come out good under ample lighting.

Other Features
Coming to the build quality of the phone, it's got its pros and cons. The back cover is made of plastic and the finishing may not seem so good for some. However, the rest of the phone is well built and is of great quality. The phone is slim and fits perfectly in hand. Though it's got a 5.5" display, it doesn't feel like it at all.

Yureka supports 4G. This phone runs on Android v4.4.4 and Cyanogen OS 11. It's got a 1.5GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Processor and Adreno 405 GPU. So, this phone can perform well when it comes to high end games like EA Real Racing 3, MC 4, Asphalt etc.

Yureka has a 2,500 mAh battery. It can last a day of mixed usage. Other feature of this phone that are worth a mention is the Screencast Application. Screencast lets you record the display of the phone along with voice. You can later replay it. This features is really useful for people who give tutorials of games and other software.
When I first switched on the phone, the battery was at 45% and temperature was normal. After checking the phone and running a few benchmark tests, the battery dropped down to around 25% (Time period- 2hrs). Yureka was seemingly a bit hot to touch after these bench mark test.

Pros: 4G, Camera, 5.5" Display, 2GB RAM, Octacore Processor
Cons: Heats up considerably
